The Danish craftsman Kay Bojesen is one of the most remarkable of his time. The premium brand Georg Jensen trained him to be a silversmith. He owned a small shop in Copenhagen with an included workshop for many decades.
His passion was to create beautiful toys for kids, to encourage them to have fun and to be creative. But he also never forgot his love for creating things out of silver. He designed the cutleryGrand Prix in 1938, which is the most popular cutlery in Denmark until today. His monkey from 1951 is still iconic today as well. br>After his son closed the shop, the young company Rosendahl still sold the monkey and the soldiers of the royal guard. After expanding the brand portfolio the company founded the brand Kay Bojesen. Under this label a lot of his toy classics got back on the market like the bear, the hippo, the singing bird and even the Santa Claus.
The brand is back to being purveyor to the court since a couple of years and operates as Kay Bojesen Denmark after being in a legal dispute.
