Bloomingville – living accessories in Scandinavian design

Betina Stampe founded her company Bloomingville in 2000 in Ikast in Mid Jylland. Betina studied at the most important university for fashion design in Scandinavia nearby in Herning. Through the Via University the region has developed into a creative center in Danish design. Even the headquarter of one of the largest European fashion groups Bestseller A/S (with brands like Vera Moda and Jack & Jones) are located near Herning. Other trendy brands such as Rains and the large distribution company F & H of Scandinavia with the trend labels A Simple Mess, Bitz and Lyngby Glas are also based in the region.

Tradition connected to modern trends

Initially Betina only used her spare time after studying for the creation of living accessories. However, she is one of the few happy people who could make the hobby to a profession and in 2000 she realized her dream with the brand Bloomingville. Her idea for the young label was to combine modern Scandinavian design with the tradition of the Danish country house style and influences of fashion, thus creating objects that harmonize with every style of furnishing.

Young brand plus own style equal success

For the modern and functional but harmonious design brands such as Georg Jensen, Holmegaard and Stelton have become world famous. Also other Danish brands such as Lene Bjerre, IB Laursen and Sia have long been successful in the traditional country style. Bloomingville has managed to combine these two traditions of the country in a unique way and to develop a new style. Due to the influence of fashion, the collections get fresh development over and over and the color of the products correspondent to the latest trend in the fashion segment.

With her concept the young brand Bloomingville quickly became successful, so that Betina's husband Simon also came to the company after the initial phase in order to take care of the procurement and the commercial. In 2014 the couple sold the company to the American holding company Regent. However, they are still active in the company.
