Iris Hantverk – traditionally made brushes from special workshops

For all those who appreciate the feeling and quality of handmade brushes or brooms made of natural materials, the small but traditional brush manufacturer Iris Hantverk produces treasures that pay homage to a dying out craft with great quality and a lot of love for the product. The small factory began binding at the end of the 20th century. Even then, the concept of the Stockholm factory was to have brushes and brooms made by hand by visually impaired people. The workshops have remained true to this principle to this day. Another guiding principle is the use of natural materials. To guarantee the high quality of all products, the owner duo Sara Edhäll and Richard Sparrenhök rely on solid birch or oak wood, horsehair and wild boar bristles.

Design also plays a role

Function and form flow into each other as a matter of course in Scandinavian designs. Iris Hantverk brushes are no exception. Again and again the small workshop wins renowned designers for the models of the manufactory. These include furniture and lighting designer Tove Adman and Hans Edblad, who designed the brand's popular standing headboard. Margot Barolo gave many brushes their texture. In addition to her own design brand, the well-known Stockholm native is already working for Rörstrand or Höganäs Keramik.

Wide range of products

It almost seems as if Iris Hantverk has made it their business to trigger a desire with things of our everyday life through visible high quality. This is not only possible with the numerous brushes, which include models for clothes, dishwashing, vegetables or mushrooms. The model for baking, breakfast boards, trays or bread boxes also impress with their feel, appearance and functionality. The friendly brand from Sweden has the right model for every application where a brush can be used. This also applies, for example, to the bathroom, where, in addition to models for toilets and nails, fine face brushes also provide greater comfort. Especially with the latter, the boundaries between the models are blurred, which underlines the filigree on many of the label's produces.
