In 2003 the couple Marianne Bisgaard and Henrik Thomsen decided to build a company. Thomas wanted a third child, and Marianne agreed that if Henrik would support her as a business partner. It was about Marianne's desire to offer nice and comfortable kid’s shoes.
The professional fashion designer Marianne Bisgaard had previously run three shoe stores. Their creativity coupled with a wealth of expertise and Henrik's structured commercial know-how resulted in the perfect conditions for a brand that designs, manufactures and markets children's footwear. The idea of Bisgaard was born.

In 2005 the new children footwear brand Bisgaard went to start and was able to celebrate its first successes. Marianne wants to offer innovative, comfortable and exciting shoes for children with her design. Today it is delivered from Aarhus to 16 countries.
