Alfredo Häberli 1964*
Alfredo Häberli was born 1964 in Buenos Aires. At the age of 13, he came to Switzerland with his parents, where he graduated in industrial design at the age of 27. In 1999 he opened his own studio "Alfredo Häberli Design Development" in Zurich. Today, Alfredo Häberli is an internationally established designer with many awards. He manages to unite traditions and innovations as well as wit and curiosity in his designs. His designs are crafted by companies such as Alias, Cappellini, BMW, Luceplan and Vitra.
Design everyday objects
Alfredo Häberli is known for recreating everyday objects. His credo: "Watching is the most beautiful form of thinking." This results in reduced designs, but never lose sight of the benefit and the user.
Iittala and Georg Jensen
Already in 1999 Häberli designed the dishes Origo for the Finnish company Iittala. Two years later the glass series Essence followed . Both series have been a great success and are being sold and produced to date.
In 2011 Alfredo Häberli designed elegant accessories for kitchens and laid tables for the famous Danish silversmith Georg Jensen. He uses round and organic shapes, which are also found again and again in the Scandinavian design and were influenced by the designer and architect Alvar Aalto. The Alfredo series include a total of 15 different products. In 2017, the Danish luxury brand entrusted the Swiss designer with the design of their Christmas collection. This collectible collection has been produced for over 30 years and has always been influenced by new designers.
