Scandinavian tip: The Moomins are cult in Finland. In Finland, there is the big Moomin World near Turku in the town of Naantali. In Helsinki and other cities there are the Moomin shops. This Finnish cult figure with the sweet and funny cartoons is known in Germany only by insiders. From time to time some films are repeated on television. Tove (Marika) Jansson published the first Moomin stories in 1953 at the suggestion of Tolkien and Carrol. Through the Japanese cartoon series, the Moomins have become world famous. The Moomins are little trolls they like little hippos who live peacefully with their friends. The main characters are Snork, Snorkmaiden, Little My, Snufkin and many others. Together they experience a lot of fun and adventure. Marauders Stinki and Morra make sure it never gets boring.

The Danish design company was founded in 1960 by Niels Stellan Høm and Carton Madelaire in Hellerup, near Copenhagen. The name Stelton is made up of the first name partners Stellen and Carton. Initially, the company acted as a pure trading company until the two owners successfully marketed a product from Dansk Rustfrit. The collaboration intensified and as a result, Stelton took over the production plant in the northwest of the island of Zealand.
The manager Peter Holmblad won in 1964 his father in law the famous Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen for cooperation. Jacobsen designed the series Cylinda-Line. The series is still a design icon of Scandinavian design. The series was also a major challenge for Stelton in terms of production technology, from which the company still benefits today. In the 1970s, followed by one of the world's most successful vacuum jugs from Erik Magnussen. At the Spring Fair in Frankfurt, it was shown with some accessories in 1977 for the first time. Therefore it is called today EM77 (Erik Magnussen 1977).
In the 1990s, things got quieter with brilliant designs on the now well-known label. A former board member of Georg Jensen took over the company in 2004 with the help of a group of investors. He relocated the company's think tank to Christianshavn in Copenhagen. In Christianshavn is the autonomous and alternative settlement Chrisitiania and is therefore is it a center for art, creativity and alternative lifestyles.
The first product - the bread bag - under new direction was immediately again a topseller. Meanwhile, the company is one of the most successful design labels in Scandinavia.
In addition to Danish designers, Stelton also commissioned internationally renowned designers such as Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte and Norman Foster.
