The pattern Unikko (poppy) was 1964 designed by Maija Isola and first time launched in 1965 from Marimekko. The pattern mutated in Finland meanwhile to the secret national flag of the country. Unikko can be found on two Finnjet aircraft, on Nordic Walking poles, on chucks, play equipment, etc - simply cult from Finland.

Maija Isola 1927-2001
Maija Isola hat ihre ersten Stoffdrucke 1949 für Printex Oy entworfen. Sie arbeitete bis 1997 als Chef-Designer bei Marimekko. Sie hatte auch eine glanzvolle Karriere als bildende Künstlerin. Maija Isola war eine sehr vielseitige Künstlerin, die in vielen Richtungen aktiv war. Sie interpretierte die Geschehnisse ihrer Zeit aus ihrer eigenen Perspektive und sah zukünftige Trends. Ihre Arbeit umfasst mehr als 500 Drucke - eine brillante Auswahl der Muster von verschiedenen Themen und Techniken. Sie ließ sich von der traditionellen Volkskunst, moderne bildende Kunst, Natur und ihren zahlreichen Ausflügen auf der ganzen Welt insperieren. Im Jahre 1970 schrieb Maija Isola Ihrer Tochter von Paris: "Bon soir mein Kind. Ich habe eine wunderbare Zeit in diesen Tagen. Ich habe angefangen zu arbeiten. Einmal wieder. Wieder einmal fühle ich mich so, als ob ich nicht die Zeit habe, um noch einen Bruchteil der Dinge zu erledigen, die ich tun will."Ihr berühmtester Entwurf ist der Stoffdruck Unikko, den es heute nicht nur als Stoff in vielen Farben gibt, den Dekor findet man heute auch als Geschirr, Handtücher, Tischsets, Taschen u.v.m.. Kristina Isola folgte Ihrer Mutter als Textildesignerin. Schon mit 16 machte sie Ihre ersten Entwürfe als Assistenten Ihrer Mutter. Zwischen 1978 und 1987 arbeiteten Mutter und Tochter zusammen. Lange Zeit entwarf Kristina ebenfalls Muster für Marimekko und fand immer wieder neue Farbvarianten für die Klassiker Ihrer Mutter, weiterhin stellte sie die Fertigartikel aus den Stoffdrucken für Marimekko zusammen.

You can send your order to any DHL Packstation or Postfiliale. Simply select the point "DHL Packstation/Postfiliale" at the different shipping address and enter the data. Optionally, you can find the best Packstation or Postfiliale near you by clicking the button [search Packstation/Postfiliale]. Delivery to a mailbox is not possible.
Partial deliveries
Usually we ship your order completely. If you order products with different delivery times, we can make a free part delivery. Please contact us separately if you want a partial delivery. Free partial deliveries are not possible outside of Germany.
Delivery time display
If a product is not in stock at our warehouse in sufficient numbers, it will be ordered for you. The expected delivery time within Germany is displayed on the product detail page, in your shopping cart and in the order confirmation e-mail. For deliveries abroad you need to add the longer running time of the packets. You will be notified separately when unexpected delays occur.
Switzerland and non-EU countriess
Swiss customers and non-EU customers do not pay the German VAT (19%) and will receive a net invoice. The VAT is levied on the country, mostly by the customs authorities. Process of a return:

- Now you can open the return label as a PDF document and print it out.
Alternatively, you can show the QR code with your smartphone at Deutsche Post offices, parcel carriers, parcelshops or packstations of DHL to print the label. - Please pack the products carefully - preferably in the original packaging and stick the DHL return label clearly visible on the package (if possible, remove or stick over the old package label).
